మళ్ళీ యల్పీ రికార్డులొచ్చేసున్నాయోచ్ !!

రికార్డులకు మళ్ళీ మంచి రోజులొస్తున్నాయ్

గత వారం ముంబాయి నుంచి మా అబ్బాయి "ఫోను చేసి

నాన్నారూ, మీకో శుభవార్త !. మీరు ఇష్టపడే యల్పీ రికార్డులు

మళ్ళీ వస్తున్నాయని టైమ్స్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా లో ఆర్టికల్ పడింది.

కోరియర్లో ఈ రోజే "ఆ పేపర్ పంపుతున్నాను" అని చెప్పాడు. నిజంగా

నాకది శుభవార్తే !. ఎందుకో గాని యల్పీ రికార్డులు స్టీరియో

ప్లేయర్ మీద వింటున్న తృప్తి నాకు మ్యూజిక్ సిస్టమ్ పై సీడీల్లో

విన్నప్పుడు కలగనే కలగదు. చక్కగా నల్లగా మెరిసిపోతూ ,

రంగు రంగుల స్లీవులతొ , గాయకుల గురించి, వాయిద్య కారుల

గురించి వాటి పై వివరంగా వ్రాసిన ఆ రికార్డుల అందమే అందం.

Back in the 1970s, upper middle-class drawingrooms

in India were considered incomplete without a record

player and a cache of albums to its side.That was a

timesongs could'n't be downloaded by pushing a button

in a retail store or on a computer keyboard.Albums

were like friends for every occation.There was no greater

joy than placing an LP gently on the turntable, watching

the needle settle in the groove and letting the sound of

music take over.

From last October, EMI Music India has released more

than 125 titles at retail outlets in Chennai, Bangalore,

Kochi, Hyderabad,Mumbai and Gurgaon .The new old

LPs start at Rs.695/- Pink Floyd's "Dark side of The Moon"

comes with posters and stickers, which are not available

with the CD format.

Yet hope floats on the "hardware" front too with retail stores

planning to sell turntables soon. "We have ordered turntables

from Austria.The shipment to arrive mid August. Infact we

have already booked 10 orders in Bangalore" says Shinde.

They will cost anywhere between Rs.19,500 and Rs..99,000/-
